The Suzuki FZ50 was a no-ped made by Suzuki from 1978-1983. This bike was marketed under a few different names: FZ50 Youdy, Rascal, and Suzy.

As opposed to the popular Suzuki FA50, the FZ50 is pretty rare, mainly because it didn’t qualify as a moped in most states. The stock engine generates 3.2 HP, and most go over 30mph with no modifications – WOW! They are arguably better bikes than the FA50 due to the higher horsepower rating, bigger carburetor, and the two speed automatic transmission. The transmission holds 900ml of 10w-40. Second gear engages at about 10mph.

The FZ50 features a crude gas gauge on the tank, front and rear racks, and 12″ x 3.00 5-star mag wheels. The ride is very smooth thanks to leading-link front suspension and a beefy rear mono-shock. The FZ50 piston, cylinder, head, and exhaust are interchangeable with the Suzuki FA50. Therefore, a few aftermarket parts do exist if you want to upgrade even more than we did in the future.

This is our favorite no-ped so we beefed it up a bit by adding knobby tires, an expansion chamber exhaust, and a tunable Italian Dellorto SHA carburetor. We also removed some of the unnecessary accessories, because that’s what the cool kids do. This bike is tuned up and does over 35 due to the upgrades. It gets there quick due to the two speed automatic transmission, and you can mess around on it confidently due to the durable tires and suspension. This bike is a winner; make it yours today!
